CPERS is the acronym for City-Parish Employees’ Retirement System which administers retirement benefits for retirees and full-time employees of City-Parish agencies, and outside member agencies. CPERS is a trust fund of the City-Parish government and was created in 1953. Our Deferred Retirement Option Plan (DROP) was the very first one in the country, and was the brainchild of two Board trustees, the Retirement Administrator, and the system’s actuary back in 1982. Today you can find DROP programs, and variations of them, in place all over the country.
This website was developed at the Board’s request to enable retired and active DROP participants to view their DROP account information, both current and historical. Should you have questions concerning your DROP account, you are always encouraged to contact our office at (225) 389-3272.
